Honda Brio – The Cheerful Solution to Driving

The compact car segment, offering great value to customer has a new name in the list Honda Brio. The base variant is unbeatably priced at Rs 3.95 lakhs, the lowest priced car ever from the Japanese company’s stable. The ‘loving’ car is going to give a tough competition to other variants such as Maruti Swift, and Hyundai’s i10 and i20.

Honda had earlier also slashed rates of the city sedan as well as of Jazz by Rs 66,000 and 1.6 lakhs respectively. And now by presenting the consumer with the 1200 cc car, it seeks to over ride its closest competitors. The lack of a diesel engine however, appears to be a push back for Honda, amidst a situation when the Indian customer is on a lookout for diesel cars; the ever soaring fuel prices, justify the demand. Researchers at Honda though are working upon the diesel variant.

The small car is going to rake in volumes similar to the City Sedan. The very name of the car denotes cheerfulness, and the car is one that truly looks towards the future. The car is available in 4 variants and they all come with a 2 year or 40,000 kms warranty and offer a mileage of 18.4 kms per liter of petrol.

The car has a light weight design, and is made of steel that is highly tensile. The large glass hatchback offers a great design. These characteristics have ruled out the use of reinforcement and thus adding to the light weight.

This might be the first of its kind from the company in India, but Honda has a long legacy of pint sized tornados, there USPs being, the high technology, light weight and the agility. Thus the Japanese company is all set to woo the Indian drivers with its new variant, isolated from the luxurious offerings.
