Prevent rattles

  • Although there are no rattle in my car, I felt that some plastic panels could be designed better.

For example, the inside B pillar plastic panel could be better attached. It feels loose.

Here is my solution: Get a double sided tape and cut small strips of the size mentioned in red (see red in pic )

    1) DO NOT REMOVE THE PANEL, ONLY PULL IT OUTWARDS SLIGHTLY
Pull the panel outwards slightly and slide the tape inside (double sided).
Use match stick to push the tape inside so that it is not visible. Only 4 tapes required here.
Once you are done, press the panel firmly.
Result: Better panel feel and quality, zero chance of rattle.

    2)
One tape at the back side of B-pillar as mentioned
DO NOT REMOVE THE PANEL, ONLY PULL IT OUTWARDS SLIGHTLY
4-5 tapes at the rear side panel. Use match stick to push the tape inside so that it is not visible.
Result: Better panel feel and quality, zero chance of rattle.

  • Thanks for sharing Senyora,
at first I am really disturbed by these rattles, but now I try to ignore it.

I'll try your DIY in my free time. thanks for the tips.

I dont have any rattles (yet) maybe because car is new

Because the double sided tape is thick/absorbent it is very effective solution

Just cut small strips and stick it in, only take 10 minutes. Must Try!

  • Glovebox open/shut sound.
    1) No hard plastic sound when open
    2) No hard plastic sound when shut

If you dont like (2) then you can only do (1) which is much better for sure!
